Description
Crunchy, salty, and zesty air fryer chickpeas seasoned with Greek flavors, perfect for snacking or adding to salads.
Ingredients
- 1 can (15 ounces) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- Black pepper to taste
- Zest from half a lemon
- Optional: fresh lemon juice, cayenne, za’atar, feta, or sumac for finishing
Instructions
- Drain and rinse the chickpeas, then pat them dry with a clean towel.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for at least 3 minutes.
- In a bowl, toss the chickpeas with olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add lemon zest.
- Air fry for 12 to 16 minutes, shaking the basket every 4 to 5 minutes, until the chickpeas are deep golden and firm.
- Taste and adjust the salt. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the chickpeas before serving if desired.
Notes
For extra crunch, let the chickpeas sit for a few minutes after cooking to let steam escape before adding any lemon juice.
