Description

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas thoroughly.
  3. Add melted butter to the bananas and mix until smooth.
  4. Incorporate sugar, eggs one at a time, and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the banana mixture, folding gently.
  7. If using, fold in chopped nuts now.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
  9. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
