- 3 to 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas thoroughly.
- Add melted butter to the bananas and mix until smooth.
- Incorporate sugar, eggs one at a time, and stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the banana mixture, folding gently.
- If using, fold in chopped nuts now.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
