Description
A delightful Italian dessert that is creamy and sweet, perfect for impressing guests.
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) gelatin
- 3 tablespoons cold water
- Fresh fruit sauce (for serving)
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling.
- In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
- Once the cream mixture is hot, remove it from heat and add in the bloomed gelatin, stirring until completely dissolved.
- Pour the mixture into molds or serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes or until set.
- To serve, carefully remove the panna cotta from the molds and top with your choice of fresh fruit sauce.
Notes
Make sure to fully dissolve the gelatin in the cream mixture to avoid lumps. For a richer taste, you can substitute half of the heavy cream with whole milk.
