Description
Deliciously crispy smash burgers paired with a flavorful house sauce, perfect for a quick meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 4 soft burger buns
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup dill pickles, sliced
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and smoked paprika to make the house sauce.
- Preheat a griddle or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
- Shape the ground beef into six loose balls, each about 6 ounces.
- Place each ball on the hot surface and smash it down with a spatula; season generously with salt and pepper.
- Cook for about 2 minutes until the bottom is crispy, then flip the patties and add the shredded cheese on top.
- Cover loosely until the cheese melts, which should take about 1 minute.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading the house sauce on both halves of the bun. Place a patty on one half, add pickles if desired, and top with the other half.
Notes
For best results, use 80/20 ground beef and don’t press down too hard when smashing the patties.
