Description

Deliciously crispy smash burgers paired with a flavorful house sauce, perfect for a quick meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 4 soft burger buns
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and smoked paprika to make the house sauce.
  2. Preheat a griddle or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Shape the ground beef into six loose balls, each about 6 ounces.
  4. Place each ball on the hot surface and smash it down with a spatula; season generously with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook for about 2 minutes until the bottom is crispy, then flip the patties and add the shredded cheese on top.
  6. Cover loosely until the cheese melts, which should take about 1 minute.
  7. Assemble the burgers by spreading the house sauce on both halves of the bun. Place a patty on one half, add pickles if desired, and top with the other half.

Notes

For best results, use 80/20 ground beef and don’t press down too hard when smashing the patties.
