Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 meat-to-fat ratio)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • Cheese (optional)
  • Toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over high heat.
  2. Form ground beef into balls (about 4 oz each) and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the beef balls on the skillet and smash them down with a spatula to create a thin patty.
  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes until crispy and golden brown, then flip and add cheese if using.
  5. Toast burger buns on the skillet.
  6. Assemble the burger with your choice of toppings.

Notes

Use high-quality ground beef for the best flavor. Don’t hesitate to smash the patties down firmly for a tasty crust.
