Ingredients
- 4-6 croissants, torn into pieces
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Gruyère)
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon or sausage (optional)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, salt, and pepper.
- In a greased baking dish, layer the torn croissant pieces evenly across the bottom.
- Sprinkle the cooked bacon or sausage (if using) and shredded cheese over the croissants.
- Pour the egg mixture over the croissant and cheese layers, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
- Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
- In the morning, remove the foil and bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown and set.
