Description

Lasagna roll-ups are an easy-to-serve twist on the classic lasagna, packed with delicious flavors of cheese, meat, and marinara sauce.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Lay a lasagna noodle on a flat surface and spread about 1/4 cup of the cheese mixture along its length. Roll the noodle tightly, starting at one end.
  6. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place the rolled noodles seam-side down in the dish.
  7. Top with remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbling and golden.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with extra marinara sauce on the side and sprinkle fresh basil or additional Parmesan cheese for added flavor. This dish can be prepared a day in advance.
