Description
Lasagna roll-ups are an easy-to-serve twist on the classic lasagna, packed with delicious flavors of cheese, meat, and marinara sauce.
Ingredients
- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Lay a lasagna noodle on a flat surface and spread about 1/4 cup of the cheese mixture along its length. Roll the noodle tightly, starting at one end.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place the rolled noodles seam-side down in the dish.
- Top with remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbling and golden.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve with extra marinara sauce on the side and sprinkle fresh basil or additional Parmesan cheese for added flavor. This dish can be prepared a day in advance.
