Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 4 brioche burger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, onion (to taste)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into four equal portions (about 4 oz each) and roll them into loose balls.
  3. Season each ball generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Place a beef ball on the hot surface and smash it down to about half an inch thick using a heavy spatula. Repeat this for the remaining balls.
  5. Cook for about 2 minutes until the edges are crispy, then top each patty with a slice of cheese.
