Description
This Juicy Smash Burger recipe is easy to make and full of flavor, perfect for a weekend barbecue or a busy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 4 slices American cheese
- 4 brioche burger buns
- Lettuce, tomato, onion (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions (about 4 oz each) and roll them into loose balls.
- Season each ball generously with salt and pepper.
- Place a beef ball on the hot surface and smash it down to about half an inch thick using a heavy spatula. Repeat this for the remaining balls.
- Cook for about 2 minutes until the edges are crispy, then top each patty with a slice of cheese.
- Assemble the burgers on toasted buns with lettuce, tomato, onion, and any additional toppings you prefer.
Notes
Use fresh ground beef for the best flavor. Don’t overwork the meat; just shape it into loose balls. Experiment with toppings like pickles, barbecue sauce, or bacon for added flavor.
