A delightful twist on traditional cookies featuring chocolatey red velvet dough topped with sweet Hershey’s Kisses.
Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ⅓ cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Hershey’s Kisses (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and softened butter.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the red food coloring and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.
- Roll the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, then immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use a cookie scoop for evenly sized dough balls. For a softer cookie, do not overbake. You can add white chocolate chips or nuts for extra flavor.
