Description

Easy Smash Burger Tacos combine the best parts of a burger and a taco into a fun and delicious dish that is crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 fat percentage)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 10 cracks fresh black pepper
  • 6 (six-inch) flour tortillas
  • 6 slices muenster or provolone cheese
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Chopped white onion (for topping)
  • Dill pickle chips (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons minced bread & butter pickles
  • 1 tablespoon pickle brine
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Mix all the burger sauce ingredients in a bowl and whisk until well combined; refrigerate until needed.
  2. In another bowl, mix salt and pepper, sprinkle this evenly over the ground beef, and divide into 2 1/2 ounce balls.
  3. Refrigerate the beef balls while preheating your flat top grill on high heat.
  4. Place each beef ball on the grill and set a tortilla on top; use a smashing tool to flatten it as thin as possible.
  5. Cook for about 1 minute, then press down again for 2 to 3 minutes until the bottom is browned and crispy.
  6. Flip the tacos to cook the tortilla side for another 2 minutes while adding cheese on top to melt.
  7. Remove from the grill and add your burger sauce and toppings before serving.

Notes

Use high-fat content ground beef for the best flavor and juiciness. A hot grill is crucial for crispy texture.
