Easy Smash Burger Tacos combine the best parts of a burger and a taco into a fun and delicious dish that is crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 fat percentage)
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 10 cracks fresh black pepper
- 6 (six-inch) flour tortillas
- 6 slices muenster or provolone cheese
- Shredded lettuce
- Chopped white onion (for topping)
- Dill pickle chips (for topping)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 2 tablespoons minced bread & butter pickles
- 1 tablespoon pickle brine
- 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Mix all the burger sauce ingredients in a bowl and whisk until well combined; refrigerate until needed.
- In another bowl, mix salt and pepper, sprinkle this evenly over the ground beef, and divide into 2 1/2 ounce balls.
- Refrigerate the beef balls while preheating your flat top grill on high heat.
- Place each beef ball on the grill and set a tortilla on top; use a smashing tool to flatten it as thin as possible.
- Cook for about 1 minute, then press down again for 2 to 3 minutes until the bottom is browned and crispy.
- Flip the tacos to cook the tortilla side for another 2 minutes while adding cheese on top to melt.
- Remove from the grill and add your burger sauce and toppings before serving.
Notes
Use high-fat content ground beef for the best flavor and juiciness. A hot grill is crucial for crispy texture.
