Description

A delightful dessert with a warm, gooey center and rich chocolate flavor, perfect for special occasions or everyday indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Butter and cocoa powder (for greasing ramekins)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease 4 ramekins with butter and dust them with cocoa powder.
  2. In a small pot, melt butter and chocolate together over low heat until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, yolks, sugar, vanilla, and salt until the mixture is pale and thick.
  4. Fold the melted chocolate into the egg mixture until combined. Sift in the flour and mix until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter among the ramekins and bake for 12–14 minutes. The edges should be set, while the centers stay soft.
  6. Let it cool for 1–2 minutes, then carefully invert the ramekins onto plates. Serve immediately.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Do not over-bake for the perfect lava effect.
