Description

Deliciously seasoned pork chops cooked in a skillet with a flavorful pan sauce, perfect for any weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops, about 6 ounces each, 1-inch thick
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, optional

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops with salt and let them rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the flour, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
  3. Pat the chops dry and rub the spice mixture all over.
  4. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the pork for 2-3 minutes until golden.
  5. Flip the pork and hold upright to brown any fat edges.
  6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 6 to 12 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  7. Let the pork rest for 5 minutes.
  8. For the pan sauce, increase heat, add chicken stock, vinegar, and honey, and simmer until reduced by half.
  9. Stir in butter off the heat.
  10. Serve the pork chops with the sauce spooned over or tossed with slices, garnished with parsley.

Notes

Let the pork chops rest before cooking for even cooking. Adjust spices as desired.
